The importance of it throughout your university journey

We know times can be stressful, especially when having to juggle life and study. Therefore, it is so important to prioritise your health and wellbeing. There are some ways in which you can help manage your stress yourself, and UniSC also provides services and support for those who feel they need a helping hand.

Four Tips to Manage Stress
Good Sleep
Time management

Sleep is hugely important when managing stress. A good night's sleep can improve your overall mood, and regulate emotions.

One of the best ways to deal with stress is to talk to someone about it. There is no shame in asking for help.

Exercise is known to be a great tool for stress management and can greatly benefit your mental health. Prioritising time to be active will make a difference in how you manage stress.

It's okay to say no! Managing your time is key to reducing stress during study. By keeping organised and not over committing, you will avoid exhaustion and burnout.

IMMERSIVE SOUND WALKS

'Sensing Environments' is a third year course that focuses on the creation of work responding to different environments through audio-visual documentation. The course's first assignment involves students creating a geolocated digital map or immersive environment through the use of images and sound. The purpose of the task is to create a sense of awareness and understanding of the chosen environment through design principles.

Students on campus have the opportunity to experience these immersive environments by downloading the 'Echoes' app on their phone, and walking through the active sound walk locations. This is a great activity to participate in whilst being on campus, for students to immerse themselves in a chosen environment, whether it be to help clear the mind or reduce stress.
